Upgrade your buildings over level 20 before you upgrade your corresponding resource tech. For example:

• Lvl 5 farms * 5 = 115,200/hr.
• 2% tech research increase @ lvl 5 food output III = 4 mil food + 4 mil iron + 12.2 mil coin 2% increase @ 115200 = 2,304

It takes 72 days alone to break even on food. Level 21 takes 70 days. This doesn’t account for the cost of the other supplies. At level 15. We would expect to see 82+ days!

RULE OF THUMB: if it costs more than 1 million. Stay off of it until the corresponding resource buildings are lvl 20 or higher. Over 4 mill? Don’t mess with it until lvl 27.
