Office of Cintus

Preamble

In 458 BC, the Romans faced a military crisis. Locked in the dreaded voting hell of Senate bylaws, their Democratic Republic could not be decisive on their path. This put Rome at risk.

However, the Romans knew this could happen. So, they created an elected position of “dictator” (not as how we view it today). It was a 6 month term. The “dictator” dictacted (as the name entails) all military strategy, city preperation, etc.

The position was made famous by Lucius Cinncinatus. The Senate elected him as dictator. When the Senate summoned Cinncinatus, they found him tilling his field. He dropped his plow and picked up his sword. Crushing the enemy in just 15 days, he famously resigned office and returned to his fields.

A mark of a virtuous Republican, Cinncinatus understood that in times of peace, a democratic republic is the only fair and legitimate rule; in times of war, authoritarian command is the only effective rule to prevail against their enemy.

We will use this old Roman strategy at SCAM. Because we despise the term “dictator” as it has been abused for 2 millenia, the position will be called “Cinncinatus”, or “Cintus” for short.

Office of Cintus

The office of Cintus is an appointed position by R4 majority vote. The Cintus shall be assigned the “Warlord” position. The Cintus has complete authority over all war strategy and operates in full autonomy. This means that the strategy they choose bypasses any and all voting and does not need approvals. This position is limited in scope to “war” strategy only.
